Concrete floors are rough and sandy. When these floors are unpolished, dust is removed and it is impossible to make them look clean. In addition, polished concrete is easier to maintain.
Instructions
- Seal the cracks with epoxy putty. Use a small spatula to apply caulk in all joints and cracks. Match the edges to make the same level as the rest of the floor. Allow the putty to dry as indicated in the manufacturer’s instructions that are on the package.
- Put dust mask over mouth and nose before you start polishing concrete.
- Place the diamond polishing metal and grain number 40 in the polishing pad machine. Start from the far corner of the room and work slowly into 6 feet by 6 feet (1.8 to 1.8 m) to polish the floor. Repeat with the 80th grain polishing pad and then the number pad 150. Grain polishing machine uses a hand to polish the edges with all types of pillow.
- Fill a pump sprayer with a product to harden concrete. Begins on one side of the floor and apply a fine mist of the product over the entire surface. Let the floor dry as directed by the product label hardener.
- Place a resin and diamond polishing 200th grain polishing pad machine. Starting from the far corner of the room and work slowly into 6 feet by 6 feet (1.8 to 1.8 m) to polish the floor. Repeat with the resin and diamond polishing grit pad number 400, then goes to the polishing pad 800 number, and finally, use the number pad 3,000 grain. Using a hand polishing machine to polish the edges with all types of pillow.
Tips & Warnings
- Practice with polishing machine in an inconspicuous place before use in larger areas.
- Polishing Machine practiced in places away from walls and baseboards until you feel you can handle it well. The rotation of the machine makes it move forward and force to control and requires practice.
